I am a sociologist by training and at heart.

In my teaching, I have taught gender studies every semester for fifteen years and loved pretty much every minute of it.

​

In my research, I do cultural sociology, that is also informed by political economy, on issues of gender.

​

Currently, I am working on two potential projects:                              one that explores 'mobility(ies)' as a key concept in understanding contemporary Turkey,                                                                 and another that examines the changing spatial design of kitchens on gender relations.
